You're a Star

Those emails that we all receive about another cause and yet another fundraising effort!

Well, this is one such message and we make no apologies because it is really rather special and heartfelt…

Introducing Star Keeble, the 12 year big sister to Ray Keeble, who was born last July with EB, a disease that the Brothers Trust wants the world to know about so that the necessary funds can be raised so that a cure can be found.

Baby Ray will feature prominently in our forthcoming Brothers Trust jigsaw puzzle with all proceeds going to #fightEB. The most awful condition and all determined by a single errant gene – which is why a cure is within reach.

Young Star is aptly named for her fundraising efforts for her baby sister, her mum, Danielle will be rightly very proud of her. But more will be required of Star in the years ahead. EB is a condition which requires constant and dedicated care, most usually by a loving mum and no doubt, young Star will be on hand to support her mum and sister in equal measure. What a smashing kid she is. Everyone at The Brothers Trust looks forward to meeting Star and her family when lockdown finally ends and we can mingle again.

In the meantime, you can visit Star’s JustGiving site to contribute if you can or just leave an encouraging message if you can’t.

Many things are required to combat a disease like EB. Primarily love but also enormous amounts of courage.

The mission statement of The Brothers Trust is “Shining a light on charities that struggle to be heard.”

The condition EB is little known and so to therefore are its affiliated charities, like DEBRA and EBRP. A perfect cause for the Brothers Trust then and with your support for the Keeble family, for young Star and baby Ray of course, we can all be a part of curing this condition.

What a tremendous achievement this will be.
